“Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it” Proverbs 22:6
My family believes that each new child should be raised in the Catholic faith. Right after I was born, I was Baptized in the Catholic faith. Off to a good start. My family puts our Catholic faith into action, by receiving Sacraments. Currently, I have received Sacraments of Initiation. My families Catholic faith is put into action by attending religion classes, including Bible studies.
Ten Commandments, Exodus 20:1-17
My favorite Commandment is, to keep the Lord’s Day Holy. Since I was born, I have been attending weekly Mass. Attending weekly Mass is a Healthy Habit. Just as brushing your teeth. I attend weekly Mass with my Mother. I put my Catholic faith in action by Altar serving at church. I have Altar servers for about seven years, currently I am Lead Altar server. Another way my Catholic faith is in action is by offering my voice, in the Choir.
“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” Mark 16:15
My family shows its Catholic faith, by our actions. My Mother and I listen closely to the gospel during Mass. As soon as we get into the car, right in the church parking lot, just like clockwork. We go over the gospel. Figuring out what is God’s message, to us, his Disciples. We believe each week God gives us a message to follow and to teach others. Our Catholic Faith in action each week, by spreading the gospel. Another way I put my Catholic faith in action, is teaching to younger students about the Catholic Faith. I have taught second grade students religion education.
“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16
Our Catholic Faith into action, through volunteering. My mother and I always sing “They will know we are Christian by love.” We sing this song mostly when we are driving to volunteer or during volunteering. My mother and I put our Catholic faith in Action by Volunteering. We volunteer at Give Kids the World, assisting with ill children and their family. We also put our Catholic faith in action by volunteering in our community.
“If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.” Matthew 21:22
Pray, pray and pray. My mother and I pray all the time. When driving to school we say a Glory be to the Father and pray for a wonderful day. Before eating and before bed, we pray. Before a trip, we pray. I learned all my Catholic prayers, by saying each one, three times a night. I truly love to pray. It’s my direct contact with God.
“This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth; but you shall meditate therein day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success.” Joshua 1:8
B I B L E, that’s the book for me. I live by the bible. Those that read the Bible find its purpose. All the answers can be found in the Bible. The reading, psalms, prayers and even the gospels can be found in the bible. I love to break down the Bible verse, and apply it to my daily life. The Bible truly makes my family’s life joyful. The Bible teaches us to put our Catholic faith into action.
“I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness but will have the light of life.” John 8:12
How does my family keep its Catholic faith in action? We live through the teaching from Jesus. We believe in the Gospel. As Disciples, we diligently are living and teach the word of the Lord. I love living my faith; it makes my life truly a wonderful lady. I am blessed in every way and everything I do, all because I live the Catholic faith.
My dream is to keep my Catholic Faith in Action by becoming a Canon Lawyer. Always putting my Catholic Faith in Action.
